Apocalypse How?

Since the dawn of civilization, mankind has been preoccupied with its own demise. All of the world's major religions have their own theories about how and when the world will end.

The Emmy-nominated Discovery Channel special Apocalypse How asks the question: if the apocalypse is coming, what form will it take - and will the final cataclysmic event be the work of Mother Nature... or man? The film explores the most plausible and threatening routes to humanity's end – beginning with the most imminent threats and working outward toward the dangers that await us further down the road.

There are many ways the apocalypse might emerge – from the bowels of the Earth or the skies above – from the depths of space or the lungs of the guy in the cubicle next to you. Could a supervolcano erupt somewhere around the world, and throw the planet into unexpected climate change? Could the asteroid Apophis, which will have a 2029 close encounter with Earth, pass through a gravitational keyhole, and set up a future impact in 2036? Could gamma rays from nearby stars destroy the ozone layer? Could there be global pandemic more lethal than the influenza outbreak of 1918?

The question isn't when the Apocalypse is coming...but how?
